Why See a psychiatrist?
In recent times, mental health is given a lot of importance. Mental health issues are present in people of all ages, right from kids to adults. It is very important to care for our mental health from a professional.
A psychiatrist is a professional that specializes in mental health. They also help in treating anxiety, depression and Bipolar Affective Disorder. if you ever feel any frequent changes in your mood or you are feeling low for a couple of days, it might be time to make an appointment for a psychiatrist.
How to Book an Appointment for a Psychiatrist
It is very simple to book an appointment for a psychiatrist. However, if it is your first time, it may be a bit overwhelming.
- Get a good referral from your family doctor or someone you trust. You can only judge a professional psychiatrist from their patients.
- You can also search online for good psychiatrists in your area. You can put in specific searches such as Psychiatrist for LGBT or female psychiatrist.
- Always make sure to check with your insurance provider before you book an appointment. Your health insurance may have a few good psychiatrists covered under your plan, making it more affordable for you.
Empowering Path Clinic has some of the best and most experienced psychiatrists that could be the right fit for you.
Questions to Ask Before Your First Appointment
Before going for your first appointment with your psychiatrist, it is always better to prepare a list of questions. This will help in understanding your psychiatrist better and prepare you for the sessions to come. We have some ideas:
- Ask them how many years of experience they have. You can also ask them their areas of expertise and if they have ever treated someone with Bipolar Affective Disorder.
- You can ask about their specializations and achievements. If need arises, you can also ask them if they know a psychiatrist for LGBT.
- You can ask about the different treatment plans available.
- Each patient has varied number of sessions based on their needs and condition. You can ask your psychiatrist about the number of sessions that would be included in the program.
How to Know if the Psychiatrist is a Good Fit
Once you attend a couple of sessions, you will have an idea about the psychiatrist. If you feel good after returning from your appointment, this may be a sign that they are good for you. Once you are in their clinic, you should always feel heard and supported.
Finding the right psychiatrist may require a bit of time and effort, but one must never settle for less in matter such as mental health. Mental health is something that has control over your entire development as a human being and so it must be cherished and protected.

Open for Appointments
We are delighted to announce that our clinic is open, and we are now accepting appointments to serve you better.
- Recording of a consultation
- Transcription of that consultation
- Processing the transcript to generate a customised medical note and patient correspondence.
Our clinicians will review and edit the medical notes and manually upload them to the patient’s medical record.
Before starting the consultation session, we will ask our patients for consent to use an AI tool to record a consultation.
We do not input personal information during the consultation recording such as the client’s name, phone number email address or any other identifying information. this information will be included in the medical note later.
AI-transcribed medical notes, remain in the AI tool database for 24 hours to give clinicians time to review and amend the note and upload it into the client’s medical record system. After 24 hours the notes are destroyed.
Please approach our practice manager if you have any questions.
